The Study Abroad is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and includes visits to Brazilian universities and companies that develop state of the art computer graphics and entertainment software. Students will also participate in cultural trips including visits to the Corcovado (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), Sugar Loaf, Maracana (world’s most famous soccer stadium), Samba School, and professional/social sports clubs, beaches and islands off the coast of Rio.
Courses:
The program is open to all students. No prerequisites. Several options for course of study exist for both undergraduate and graduate students. Students can earn up to 6 hours of credit. Courses include CSIS4490 International Computer Entertainment (videogame) Design and CSIS3210 Project Management. Graduate students will also have the opportunity to interact with Brazilian researchers in the field.
Cost:
$3000 for early application with deposit by October 31, 2007 or
$3100 for application w/deposit after October 31,2007
Cost covers airfare, hotels, breakfasts, company visits, and sightseeing excursions. Tuition is not included.
